Marthe LAZARUS est une photographe-plasticienne française.
Son travail interroge la mémoire photographique, perdue, fantasmée, retravaillée, brouillée, superposée. À travers des autoportraits, des mises en scène, des collectes sur internet, elle rassemble des flux, les entrecroise, créée des répétitions dans une approche obsessionnelle.
L’intime et la dimension historique se superposent, se heurtent parfois – comme dans sa série de 2023 Haute Intensité consacrée à l’invasion de l’Ukraine. Elle cherche à ouvrir des béances et à construire des interstices dans les images et dans le temps.
Une exploration de la photographie qui se développe à travers des séries/séquences, des collages, des photo-films, et sa collection de fanzines en cours : Time Machine.
Elle vit et travaille à Aubervilliers.
Her work questions photographic memory, lost, fantasized, reworked, blurred, superposed. Through self-portraits, stagings, collections on the internet, she gathers flows, interweaves them, creates repetitions in an obsessive approach.
The intimate and the historical dimension overlap, sometimes collide – as in her 2023 series Haute Intensité devoted to the invasion of Ukraine. She seeks to open gaps, build interstices in images and in time.
An exploration of photography that develops through series/sequences, collages, photo-films, and her current collection of fanzines: Time Machine.
She lives and works in Aubervilliers.
